David Wagner’s winless side dominated possession throughout at Turf Moor but went behind when Burnley’s Sam Vokes headed in a second league goal in as many games.
Christopher Schindler’s header helped Huddersfield claim a point at Burnley – and climb off the foot of the Premier League table.
However, the Terriers finally made their pressure count midway through the second half as German Christopher Schindler glanced a Chris Lowe cross beyond Joe Hart for his first Premier League goal.
There was a lengthy delay shortly afterwards when Schindler sustained a cut to his head in a collision with Chris Wood, but neither side could find a winner in the eight minutes of added time.
